Devon was born in the country of Panama. He’s been diagnosed with both Down syndrome and Autism. At 12 years old, he’s our little pipsqueak, a tiny guy who’s happy most of the time. Devon loves dancing to music, his favorite DVD’s – the Backyardigans, VeggieTales, and Baby Einstein – and getting horsey-back rides from his big sister in the ocean or pool. Our family has participated in the Buddy Walk/Step Up for Down Syndrome since he was 2 – which he typically enjoys while being pulled in his beloved little red wagon. Don and Jenn King.

Penny is such a doll. She’ll be one on October 23rd and it’s been a magical year. In that timespan Penny has taught us so much about resilience and joy. From a 5-week stay in the NICU to a heart operation to the lockdown Penny has shown us how to slow down, take things one day at a time, and love each other unconditionally. As the adults worried about the lockdown, Penny was thrilled that everyone would be home now, especially her big brother. She’s very mischievous and has a contagious laugh. We love to observe her as she observes the world, darting her eyes from one exciting thing to the next. On her To-Do List: join the fun in the deep end of the pool, swing from the monkey bars, and eat a slice of pizza.
