Day 4 of October Down Syndrome Awareness Month! We are celebrating people with Down syndrome by sharing our local individuals with Down syndrome every day this month with their stories. Help spread awareness, acceptance, and meaningful inclusion in schools and community!??

Penny is such a doll. She’ll be one on October 23rd and it’s been a magical year. In that timespan Penny has taught us so much about resilience and joy. From a 5-week stay in the NICU to a heart operation to the lockdown Penny has shown us how to slow down, take things one day at a time, and love each other unconditionally. As the adults worried about the lockdown, Penny was thrilled that everyone would be home now, especially her big brother. She’s very mischievous and has a contagious laugh. We love to observe her as she observes the world, darting her eyes from one exciting thing to the next. On her To-Do List: join the fun in the deep end of the pool, swing from the monkey bars, and eat a slice of pizza.
